About Me.
My mother was a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and a well-received Toronto portrait artist. My first memories are of at the end of each day being allowed to use the leftover paints from her palette. I attended the Toronto New School of Art while in high school, and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Guelph and a Bachelor of Education in Visual Arts and History secondary education from the University of Toronto. I have studied under such notable artists as Ken Danby, Denis Burton, Ronald Bloore, and Eric Cameron. While I seriously contemplated a career in anatomical illustration, a passion for teaching and learning shaped my future. Today, sixty years after graduating from university I find myself following the original dream of making art – “being an artist”.
